Reading Band — follows cursor/finger. Dims above & below a horizontal window for line-by-line focus.
Peripheral — radial fade from center. Simulates foveal vision; edges blur and dim.
Vignette — darkens screen corners to pull the eye toward the center of the page.
Concentr8 is a signal-layer reading interface — built on the premise that all text contains multiple simultaneous dimensions of meaning that standard readers flatten into a single undifferentiated stream.
The interface separates signal from noise, surfaces domain-specific intelligence, and allows readers to focus on what matters most within a document — whether that's legal exposure, financial risk, narrative character, or chronological sequence.
Three overlay modes — Reading Band (a narrow attention window that follows your cursor/finger), Peripheral Dimming (darkens screen edges without obscuring text), and Vignette (gradual edge fade) — help readers maintain focus in long-form text. The Reading Band can be locked at any Y position via the floating 🔒 that travels with the band.
The story analysis system is deliberately neutral — it does not label characters as heroes or villains by judgment, but surfaces the signals and archetypes the text presents, inviting the reader to form their own interpretation. The AI acts as a collaborative reading companion, not a critic.
